Rainbow Studies, MLI's special summer session, is a 2-week program which will enhance conversational skills and introduce students to the wonders of Maui through a "living classroom."

Students begin their days by honing their conversational skills. Then they divide their time between intensive, custom-designed ESL classes and recreational activities. What they learn in class becomes immediately useful as they explore the wonders of Maui.

If the theme for the day is coral reefs, for example, students would spend their classroom time learning about and practicing the vocabulary associated with the plants and animals that make their home in and around the reefs. Later, they would be taken to the Maui Ocean Center for a guided tour and the chance to see living examples of the tropical fish, eels, crustaceans and other creatures discussed in class. It's a wonderful way to make learning come alive!
